The white protective cover of the electrical cord must be peeled off very carefully so that the copper strands are exposed and remain intact. The wires don't have a special +/-, so they can be installed in the plug either way, as long as the wire makes good contact with the brass pins in the plug.

Note, the ends of the stripped electrical wires must not touch each other when the power is turned on. Otherwise, there will be a short circuit and the fuse in the lighting rail of the transformer will blow.
